sorry but need some me help. which tyre for fast road and hopefully no wet riding. im thinking m7rr, k3's, S21's or maybe sometihng grippy'er..super corsas or k1/2.. ive got the pilot power 3's on now but not liking the feeling from the front, i had no issues with them on mt 10 plate but on the 15 they just dont feel nice at higher lean angles.

I had them on the r1 and felt great to but on the bm feel *****. I went with the dunlop sportsmart 2s. A rounder profile which works great. It was a toss up between these and the m7rr

I don't know how hard you ride on the road but all the tyres you've listed should be more than up to the job assuming you're not tired of life(!), K1/2's are track tyres so wouldn't bother with them, I'm currently using M7RR's and very happy with them

i used to run the k1/2's on my gixer thous and loved them but dont think they will last more than 500 miles on the beemer as i ride fairly hard on the road. on all the forums these M7RR's seem to be poping up a lot so all though i dont like the look of the tread pattern i suppose i should give them a shot. ive only done 500miles on the pp3's but think i need to drop them as they miss behave very easily.

k1/k2 race tyres need warmers or you will get caught out, m7rr totally up to the job[/QUOTE

never needed warmers in the past with K1/2's, take about 1/2 mile to get up to temperature but didnt like the wet too much. i used to love them on a warm summer evening. ive also used dunlop 211's and 212's on the road but these need a couple of miles before you could 100% trust them.

If you've never tried Conti SA's then I think they are worth trying out. New SportAttack3 came out recently. They heat up really quick. But if you want something more extreme go for the Metz RR's K3. Hard compound for the road is better as it actually heats up faster. I came home in the rain from Snetterton (once I was inside the M25 at least). I had the RR's on and they kept me upright.

When I got my bike it had the mez RR k3's on. Both front and back tyres were bold after 1000 miles! Which for the road is a waste of time, I've fitted the s21 now and pushed them fairly hard and they seem fine, and don't peel in the middle when nailing it on long straights.

I ran the 212s on the road for a couple of mnths last summer but got caught in the rain and cold 1 time. Never Again lol

These ones. Diablo Supercorsas, now change front and back every 1000-1500 miles. Got a fright that day. Loved the Metzeler K3s I had on my 2012 S1000rr.

lol..thats just warn out. yes you should have changed it when there was about 1mm left in the center.

Hey STi, you've got to get your moneys worth!!!! lol

When I got it replaced the tyre fitter told me to change them when they still have a bit life in them, hence my practice now.

I was razzing about in the Highlands when this happened and maybe 15 minutes before noticing this I was travelling at quite a rate. Never again.

Was looking at Stuartb's bike at the weekend and his M7RRs looked great and had done a few miles, I think you'll like them.

Take it easy.

Ill second the M7RRs buddy as Jimmy says mine are well scrubbed in. It took me ages to pluck up the courage to change to a new manufacturer ie Metzeler... I find them faultless. I took the recommendations on here and I am totally confident with them which was the big thing with me.

Lets face it we dont buy these bikes to hang about with, ive given mine 1000 hard miles last week alone... I have 100pc confidence in them. Last thing I need is my mind wandering when firing into a fast corner..so far the wear rate looks very very good... longevity and grip dont usually pair well, Metzeler seem to have knocked it off with the compounds used....buy with confidence.

It's reasonably simple. Track focuses tyres for track and road focuses for road. All tyres grip more with the right heat. Road tyres have a wider heat "sweet spot" than track focussed. On the road the M7RR, Pilot road 4, Sportsmart, K3s etc will provide better grip more of the time than supercorsa's etc. This is fact regardless of how you ride. The heat needed to get the track focussed tyres working best only gets achieved with fairly continuous corner stress achieved on track.
How and where you ride influences it. There is also people personal preference of how the tyre feels to them and their perception. Most tyres will take you round a corner with no issues but ride the same corner at tea me speed on 2 different makes of tyre straight after the other without knowing what is on you will say the best one was the one you were told was going to be the grippiest as there is a mental element to it as well.

Attempted before and after of the m7rr rear after 4K next to the new one. Even wear and the profile remains in good shape with minimal squaring off.
