So...

The search for a Gen 3 is finally over. I’ve agreed a deal for this:

2015 bmw s1000rr
Electronic suspension.
All standard parts fairings Etc included and are like brand new!
Full arrow race system.
Race air filter.
Power com v plus properly set up by Paul at dynobike malton.
Full race fairings including tank cover seat unit all in Milwaukee colours.
Carbon frame and swinging arm protectors. Carbon rear hugger
Gb racing covers plus frame sliders wheel and fork bobbins.
Spare wheels with discs.
Lightech rearsets And chain adjuster.
Gpr steering damper.
Renthal racing chain and sprockets plus spares.
Renthal clip ons plus spare bar ends. Austin racing folding brake lever. Front brake guard hel brake lines
Mint just under 6000 miles

Can’t wait to get it up the road and give it a proper going over. Probably won’t get a chance to ride it before Jerez in February which gives me a bit of time to put my touch on it.

Priority is to get the 2D potentiometer for the front but that’s it really apart from any serviceable items.
I’m going to take my time with it and try to learn the bike before going daft with full suspension upgrades etc.

Got the bike on the ramp for a closer look today and needs a new chain and sprocket set. It’s got a 44 rear on but sure the Gen 3 had a 45 as standard. I’ll order a new chain and sprocket set anyway.

I’ve ordered some new tank grips and a tank pad to replace the yellow ones that were on and the tacky tank pad.

Pulled the pads and seem to have plenty meat on them but can’t work out what pads they are that’s in. Just going to look at ordering some pads if I can decide what to go for.

I’ll pop over to East Kilbride and get some oil and a filter for it in the morning.

Changed the MC and put on my Brembo RCS19 and new fluid.

Whats the front got?

Before you order anything gearing wise consider the impact.

Change a cog and you change wheelbase, anti-squat, ride height oh and the acceleration.

But anyway,
16/46 with a 120link chain, makes the bike quite peppy lots of revs everywhere, more gear changes.
16/43 with a 120link chain, allows you to use the torque more, less gear changes, less wheelies.

Stock is 17/45 btw

Is the chain 120 or 118 links? Stock is 118, keep this in mind.
