Just collected my 2019 S1000RR m sport yesterday after selling my Gsxr 750. 1 owner bike 3800 miles. Looking forward for some better weather now to get out on it 😎 few little bits have been ordered ready to go on. IMG_5643.jpeg

Nice.
What you ordered?
A new puig screen as that carbon effect one ain’t the nicest. A new smaller plate and some M1000RR levers. Just deciding what exhaust to go for now. Not wanting to do a full system yet with it having 2 years warranty so thinking just a slip on until it’s up

Cool. Dealers are usually not fussed with full systems with bikes under warranty.
The only time you may have an issue is if the exhaust system is directly related to your fault/warranty claim.

With a full system will the bike not need a remap with the cat being removed?

It will run OK, but I would get it mapped. Also if you get the bike mapped and the dealer does an update, your map will be wiped/erased.

I've had the warranty/aftermarket headers conversation with 3 different Motorrad dealers when buying a new bike, and they each said it should be OK. But when pressed they wouldn't say it would definitely be OK. And ultimately it's not them that have pay for the labour and parts if it goes bang. It's not like road bikes aren't fast enough without headers, though I have wondered how it would sound and run if the exhaust valve was fixed open?

If you want to hear it, remove the cables. You will have to think about how to keep the exhaust valve open, as it is springed.
TBH it won't sound much louder because cats still installed.
