Im wanting to paint or powder coat my swing arm. I gather the bearings need to be removed for powder coating. Anybody have any idea the cost of new ones or will the old ones go back in?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Seen a swingarm for sale yday on EB for ?200.00... handy as a spare or dress that one up then switch it on to your machine when you've sorted it out...just a thought

Changed to buy now ?250.00 162163612825

Ive decided to have the full bike painted. Just to make it my own and different to other peoples. The swing arm is grey at the minute

Good mate...sounds a good project...winters round the corner. Theres little on a bike that would look better srayed in situ than off.... get it stripped. Whats the paint going to look like ?

I saw a nice pink 1 racing at the tt this year, not sure who it was but my painter refuses to paint it pink haha, we've settled for a deep purple.
Got it booked in end of november before she gets tucked away.
U seen the spooky ghost rr??
Something like that but dont want to copy someone elses too much.
Going to be keeping the bike for a long while so not bothered about the resale value it will affect.

Pink ! FFS... thats a bit radical ha.... a nice custom job would be good and increase the desire to own...think thats the route id go down.

I thought it would decrease the value but im not too fussed either way.
If i decided to get the swing arm dipped would the bearings still need to be removed do you know?

Stick out for the pink Snow, I had a BMX done in pink in the 80's and got loads of attention whilst at competitions.

Real men wear pink.

If it's being sprayed then, providing the bearings are masked out,it should be ok.If powder coating, then they will definitely need replacing.

Would you not consider carbon covers for your swingarm if you don't like the carbon effect maybe you could get them sprayed

Yea ive seen them but the middle is still on show so id have to spray the middle still. Ive got my eye on a couple of silver 1's which will look better than grey with the new paint scheme

Oh didn't realise it didn't cover everything
You'd probably get a silver one on ebay cheaply enough
Best of luck

Cheers, ive convinced my painter on a nice metallic rose. I bet he puts the price up now though haha
Got it booked in for end of november
