I have just bought a double bubble screen in dark smoke and just as i was going to fit it a stupid question pops into my head.
Now it's still too cold to ride out, I've sat on the bike and looked at you tube but I still don't know the answer!!!!
The question is:- 'Do I actually 'look' through the screen?'
Will the dark smoke obstruct my vision?
I can't figure it out and thats the stupid part.
Thing is I don't want to go on the bike to find out but I'm stumped that I don't even remember how I ride??!!!!!

I always have a tinted screen on my bikes - even my track bikes and its mostly for aesthetics but the double bubble obviously helps with wind resistance and aero when you tuck under etc - however, unless the screen is jet black then you will still be able to see enough through the screen for the time you are sat under it looking through it - you really only look "through" the screen when you are going hell for leather in a straight line, most other times (if you are riding hard and fast) you are jumping side to side of the tank and looking either side and around the screen - i would just get it fitted and not worry about it.

Fair question mate, I wondered the same thing when toying with a tinted screen - still not done it yet - let me know how you get on!

Tinted screens are just for looks, thought about this when fitting my race fairings, fitted d/bubble clear, last thing i want to do is 'guess' where a breaking point is after tucking in down a straight. Unless yr riding a very short tight circuit head should be behind the screen a lot. Faster the speed, more you need to see, 'specially if you have a few bikes in front lol. As far as i can remember, very rarely see a helmet out of the bubble, in a bend its to the side then slid back behind the screen, or breaking. Just my opinion and something for me to work on!

Do you wear a tinted visor as well? combo of the two may be too much.

I have a tinted screen and visor and i can see the track just fine - i appreciate it would be a different matter if both screen and visor were jet black - but i have no issues seeing my turning in points or apex's etc. That said im no Rossi on track and i do mine for pure aesthetics!

I agree hoops, just saying that clear screens are on 'real' race bikes for a reason lol. I dont wear tinted visor on track unless the suns low. Road trim is tints definately, looks good.

Totally agree - i wear a tinted visor so no one can see the sheer panic in my eyes!!!

Got a light smoke one, can still see through it ok but I guess the benefit of not having your head ripped off as opposed to actually seeing where you are going is a tough call.

Well I've fitted the screen and I don't look through it at all on the road, track might be different.
I'm going to Brands this Thursday and I'll see if it affects me, indy circuit though so I doubt it will make much difference.
I don't usually ride with a tinted visor but that's mainly because I don't want to carry a spare around if i'm out till late.
But if the visor does obstruct on track then I will probably go for the OEM tall screen.
I've had this bike for three years now and I'm done with mods for aesthetics.
All I want to do now is ride better and I am not spending any money on useless mods.
I had a brand new ARCS 3 exhaust and I didn't even bother fitting it as soon as I heard it would fail noise regs- off to fleabay it went.
