Booked in for service tomorrow and wanted to check if everyone else has a bit of throttle play or just me. I seem to roll it on a bit when pulling away or if I Rev the engine there is a bit of play first.
Don't want to add it to my list if they're all the same.

How long is the list now? my right fork leg had a little bit of oil on it today so will keep an eye on it.

Well....

Almost a toptastic top ten boys and girls

There's a new entry with "throttle play" at Number 8, followed by;
cracked rear plastic
rocking dash
movement with rear indicator
Moving up to number 4 it's; Corroding washers on the seat securing bolts,
DTC glitch
HP4 wheels painted finish defect
And a brand new number 1 with "the noise is definitely getting louder on the engine"
Be sure to Tune in next week.

On top of that I have a scratched tank which won't be replaced anytime soon (as there are none available) and for good measure, a hole in my mirror courtesy of a stone, oh, and I had a nail in my tyre.

But I love it!
And tomorrow the limiter comes off. Woohoo

My throttle has no play Loupe. Almost all that view the bike comment that the chain is near full adjustment.

Thanks Marzy,
Yes my chain is fairly near the end too.
Asked for a price for HP levers and from memory they were about ?360 ish!
given the problems some folk have had with the shifter and cc then I might bite the bullet and have them fit them.

Interesting you mention the seat bolts- I went to remove my seat yesterday to put the plug in and the head sheared off one of the bolts - the rest of the bolt is now stuck in the sub frame. I thought at the time it looked like it was corroded in but I thought "that cant be". Cant get the seat off now :-(

Nightmare OW, thought about asking them to put the plug in at service but was smarting at the thought of them charging me...
Surely you can ask them to remove the bolt as it shouldn't have sheared? The bolts look ok but the washers have gone that white furry look.

The chain being near adjustment is a design "feature"- they increased the wheelbase by adding a link (well two really) to the chain rather than lengthening the swingarm. Smacks of a last-minute design decision!

The problem is I'm not sure I'd want to risk losing 20mm of wheelbase by fitting a more appropriate chain. I'm thinking an automatic oiler is the only real solution. On my other Scottoiler-equipped bikes the sprockets tend to wear out before the chain has stretched much.

Dash secure, rear fairing replaced, indicator replaced, washers refinished and greased? (Look fine) and throttle seems sharper.
Haven't had the fault with the DTC again so not too bothered about that for now.
No word on the wheels but I'll leave that for another day.
The technician agreed the engine sounds a bit different but there's been no reports of issues yet so it's been noted and I'll wait and see if it gets worse or if others on here get the same noise from their bike.
I think there is a problem but it runs fine and I don't want it lying in the garage in bits while they try to find a fault,if any.
