Is there any way by frame or engine number to know or find out in owning a 2011 model , that you have one with the crank an cam update, other than buying one the right brake lever showing,

I guess you need to call your dealer with your frame and Registration number, I am sure they could do a quick check for you.

cheers , that would be ideal but im currenty trying to do a deal and find out as much as possible about the 2011 model prior to me taking plunge, and hoping some one with a september model 2011 can confirm all for me, all i have is the vin ending ..........1474
cheers oz

I have just been emailed this from a bmw dealer who im doing a deal with on a bmw, WHAT DO YOU THINK.. as per email........... ref crank............

Hi Ozzy,

Apologies for delay its been really hectic in for the last few days.

I have spoken with our service department and also our bike technicians, 2012 bikes had to have the big end bolts replaced they have never heard of the new heavy crank replaced and hollow cams replaced.

However this is a 2011 bike and the bolts did not replaced on this model.

I'm not aware of any crank or cam changes since the one in 2010. AFAIK all 2011 bikes should be fine. :)

Wow, your BMW dealer could use someone with a basic grasp of the English language...

Shocking!
