Looking for a few opinions on this. I know there's a good few posts about overvoltage but I'm having difficulty pinning it down to a definite cause with the evidence I've gathered.
Replaced battery last year for brand new one as old one died and wouldn't hold charge. Shortly after, whilst riding, I got the overvoltage error that shut the dash down but it never happened again after that, albeit I didn't do a huge amount of miles.
Back to 3 weeks ago and I got out on the bike again and on my first ride on the way back home i got the error again which cleared itself eventually after a couple of cycles of it resetting the dash.
Last week it did it again on the way back from a ride and I discovered the error actually kills the headlights and horn after a muppet tried to cut across me in traffic and I had no horn.
Battery is always kept on a tender and has very low mileage on it since bought in November 23.
I've done the regulator diode test and a ton of voltage tests on the stator and battery and would appreciate some feedback on the results I'll post.
I had run it by Phil Crowe on FB and he suggested the battery fixes a lot of overvoltage issues they see but I don't want to just throw money at it replacing a battery I've only just replaced last season and then find out its stator or reg/rec
