Hi all,

I sincerely apologies for asking as this has been talked about a lot I am sure
I have a 2011 and want to do an oil/brake pad change. My question is can I use castrol power racing 1, 10/40? The book says SEA 10/40 if cas pr 1 5/40 not available.

What's the best reasonable priced pads? EBC, FERODO, GOLDFREN etc. I don't do track days and I only occasionally commute to work.

As I am new to sport bikes I would appreciate clean advise.

Many Thanks
Vern

I'm using castrol power 10/40 in my 2011.

As for pads, i've tried Brembo, EBC, Bendix, Goldfren, Camot. Getting cheaper each time in that list.

Has braking got progressively worse each time i've dropped to a cheaper pad? Marginally. At moment i'm using Camot these cost me £34 from ebay to do both front calipers. I use bike daily as it's only means of transport for me, and to commute to work the cheap pads are perfectly fine. If I'm going out for just a ride, I'll slip a pair of EBC or bendix I have that are half worn.

Ross, many thanks for the reply I will have a look at EBC/ Bendix. I am going to buy the 10/40 and filter from motorworks.

Regards
Vern
