Age is but a number mate I'm 54 and ride with a guy that is 73 he has a panigale and isn't slow which inspires me as he said he has yet to find a hobby that would fill the void of not having a bike.I also had the k5 thou which by the way the BMW was based on engine wise what a bike still the best gsxr they have made enjoy mate years of fun and smiles ahead.

Hi Ian and welcome to the forum and back to biking, I intend to keep riding as long as possible. I hate the thought of not having a road bike, when the time comes I will just downsize and then downsize again until I probably will have a scoot (not mobility lol).. Enjoy your bike.

Thanks for your reply, 73! I best shut up and get on with it! I'd read about the S1 being designed around the GSXR as much as I loved it, it really does not compare to the S1 in no way am I trying to do the GSXR down, different times different technology.

Welcome Ian, glad your enjoying the BM, like most have said already age is but a number, and aslong as your fit you have no excuse.

I remember a few year back sitting in the car park at Inverary castle and a new at the time repsol blade pulls in and heads straight for a piss, 5mins later 2 blokes pull in on GSXRs and asked who does the blade belong to as he blitzed them on the road into there, 5mins later the guy comes back, turns out he was in his 70s and had just nipped out for a wee spin

Incidentally Inveraray is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I'd rank in my top 3.
