im not an owner (yet) but am doing my due diligence to see if this really is the best road going super sports bike in the world?

There are no bad bikes anymore. The RR is very capable in almost all senarios.

I had an original fireblade, a 98 R1, GSXR1000 K6 and K8, all lovely bikes, (still got the R1, both the GSXRs were stolen). had the BM (gen1) since 2014 (and have tested all the newer ones, but not felt the need to upgrade) I've done 45000 miles on it including tours of europe and the odd track day. No real problems with it, only been to the dealers for shim checks every 18000, It's just a great bike handles well goes like a rocket and comfy enough to do distance - cornwall for lunch and back to London in a day.
