Well Techinically im not a new owner yet as i dont pick it up till thursday, but have paid in full so it kind of counts :). Anyway i've got my hands on the 2011 model non sport, which im not exactly sure what differences there are between the sport & non sport. (anyone enlighten me?)Changed from gsx-r750 IOM LTD Edition to the BMW for the sake of it being my dream bike since they were released. Live in lake district so cant ask for much better roads than i have in my back garden but will definitely having some track fun this year as i never got chance last year (lack of cash). Thanks for reading and glad to be a part of the site

Hi and welcome to the site
I too traded in my gsxr 750 k8 for a 2011 non sport
The main difference is it doesn't have traction control or abs brakes. Having never had either before you don't miss what you never had.
It's very easy to ride just like the gsxr below 7000rpm but get it above that and holy **** it moves.
What colour did you go for ?

Welcome Iain, hope the new bike lives up to your hopes and dreams.

Well thats good to know, like you say never had it so i wont miss it. I have gone for the all white, would of loved the BMW racing coulours but none within my budget. what about you?

Yeah I really like the white ones I have the motorsport colours as that was the only one available when I was looking.
Any goodies on it or have you started your shopping list yet.

oooh very nice. It has a quickshifter fitted, i have a full akripovic on order and some ASV leavers. possibly a single seat cowell just so the mrs doesnt get any ideas of wanting a shot on the back haha.Need some new leathers white & black if anyone has got any for sale?

I only got mine in Sept but so far it's cost me a small fortune
R&G frame protectors , fork protectors, bobbins
chain and sprockets carbon front and rear mudguards levers new helmet, it never ends
Also picked up a seat cowl cheap from China but it doesn't fit great a bit gappy in places but I hear it's the same with the genuine one so if that's the case I'm glad I didn't pay big bucks for it

Did you change the gearing when you changed the sprockets? or was it just to upgrade/replace them?Yeh i also could do with a new helmet & boots so i can imagine im going to be paying a fair bit out in the first few months of owning it.Ahh right well thats interesting & a potential money saver, which site did you order tour cowel from?

Welcome to the site Iain, there is always something to throw your cash at with bikes, but its brilliant. Enjoy your new ride.

Just bought it from eBay, it came from China so took an age to get here
No I kept with the standard gearing probably should have changed it but they were buggered so I went for the easy option, probably should have put a bit more thought into it and altered them though, maybe next time

Hi Iain,
Welcome to the site, might see you at Devils Bridge if it ever stops rainning up our way. I have changed the gearing on my 2015 as well as a lot of other things and there was me going to leave this one std as thought was so good right out of the box!!

Well I rode my bike for the first time today and WOW!! its an absolute animal. only managed 30mins as I didn't know the area and the fuel light came on. Yes hopefully the weather gets better soon with spring and I will definitely be at devils bridge its been an age since I have ventured up there.
Powders I presume it was worth the wait with the price you paid and were you happy with the quality of it?

Be prepared to throw a lot of fuel in, it gets addictive!

It was very cheap so I took a gamble
It seems well made but it's brilliant white compared to bmw alpine white
I went to a company here in Dublin who mix up spray paint and painted it myself.
Didn't turn out too bad but the colour wasn't right so I didn't fit it.
Need to leave it in somewhere to get it done properly but haven't got around to it yet.
