I changed my OEM calipers simply because Brembo Z04 front brake pads were significantly cheaper for the GP4-RX calipers. I never bothered changing brake lines or the master cylinder as it wasn't really required; especially when using Castrol SRF brake fluid.

I'm sure the new calipers will be absolutely fine on track once you change the OEM brake fluid and fit suitable race pads. As far as I'm aware BMW have done away with the ridiculous 4-pad per caliper design for 2019 which will mean that good brake pads will be significantly cheaper. I will probably still fit my GP4-RX calipers anyway, but that's only because I kept them when I sold my bike. The only question that remains is whether or not the 2019 S1000RR OEM brake lines will be compatible and allow a direct swap like the 2015-on model.
Just to confuse matters completely I was really surprised how much the RCS master cylinder improved the S1000RR braking with stock pads and callipers at Portimao. The Brembo GP4-RX I fitted later have made a difference as well but not as much of a jump as changing the MC surprisingly.

I'd put the Pads, Master Cylinder, Fluid and ABS pump (in modern bikes) before the caliper, in terms of importance to the feel and quality of the braking. The new one is a lot cheaper to feed pads...those Z04's are going to be much more affordable.

Brilliant. What spec did you order and when are you expected to have it delivered?

I?ve ordered the M sport. It?s going to be replacing the Ducati 1299S I?ve just sold but planning more track time with the Beemer. It?ll still be a road bike though with some track time thrown in the mix.
I?ve been told July for delivery.

Re: New S1000RR spy photos?!?

Just watching the MotoGP practise from Argentina and they had an onboard lap of Crafar on the 2019 S1000RR, sliding her sideways on -7 DTC.

Looks an animal

Re: New S1000RR spy photos?!?

Baron Von Grumble was at Lloyds BMW in Carlisle showcasing the 2019 base model. Very nice, he did a good explanation of the TFT dash and answered all questions. He has ordered an M Sport as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the end can and rear plate holder. I might just leave them standard. We were not allowed to sit on the bike as it wasalready sold to someone for racing.

No it had active suspension. I should have said it was the red bike. Also it had the SOS button beside the right switchgear. So it must have been specced up a bit.

And it was for someone to race? Not sure why they would pay the extra for the SoS button, even I was torn with that one when it came to track days. Went with it in the end though.

I thought the same regarding the SOS button but yes, it was there. A little flap and red button. Apart from that and active suspension the bike looked standard.

Dont shoot the messenger but as of now the 2019 bike is not due till November/December. I call a call from my dealer this morning. He said he will find out more information this coming week.
