Someone was telling me last week that a ropey 205 1.9gti went at a classic auction for ?30k recently. I'm secretly thinking AX Gti lol.

Had a 1.6 gti, then the 1.9 came out, jeeeeeze what a difference! AX gti was crap in comparison. Renault 5 Gordini, now yr talking lol

I must admit, I saw a full on Gordini back then it was truly awesome, to this day, in that class I've not seen anything better. As for super cars, what about the affordable GTR? now that is a monster for the ?? [emoji106]

Now your talking Alex, my brother had a beautiful red one with the kamei bodykit (remember them) until I smashed it into a Vauxhall viva, he wasn't happy. I had a Reno 5gt turbo at the same time (awsome little car) and swapped it for a mk1 escort rs turbo (c300awx reg). Wish I'd still got it.

Renault 5 Turbo, mental car. Seem to remember something about the engines in those expiring quickly?

Had a girlfriend once who drove around in a silly fast Fiesta, can't recall the model, think it may have been an H plate, but I think it had that blue stripe on the bodywork plastics. She had fitted a rally clutch to it and some other bits. It went well, as did she.

The 1 car I really wanted as a younger man was a Fiat uno turbo IE ... I can't recall the last time I saw one. A guy I knew whilst I worked at the post office had one, lime green - looked awesome.

My parents insisted on buying Fiat for most of my childhood. Uno Turbo I.E. and the Tipo 2.0IE were my consistent request for many years (if we must have a FIAT).

I do have a weird soft spot for the Chris Bangle designed Coupe...
