Manufacturer fitted options lookup by reg plate

I've been looking around for a used bike over the past few weeks and not all the ebay, autotrader etc. adverts list all the options. I've been using the following process to lookup the fitted options from the registration plate, might be useful for others. Apologies if this was common knowledge!


1. Use https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/BMW/Login/Index - enter the reg number of the bike


2. You will have the following details returned:

Vehicle Registration Number
Model
VIN (Chassis)
First Registration Date


3. Copy last seven digits of the VIN and enter into this tool: http://www.bmwvin.com/

Which will display various details including the factory fitted options. Also useful for HPI checks.

Ots yhe VIN number you have to use

I cant get it to work. The 1st part doesnt recognize my reg plate, and the 2nd part doesnt recognize my VIN (taken from the log book). Usually I'd be worried about this, but BMW seem to have the same details as me in their database.

I tried this to see if I have abs pro, I couldn't get it to work with 3 different bike vins but it did work with the car.

I found another website which has worked every time.
