I would guess that someone got caught up in road debris (plastics from a truck's arch liner) and made them both fall off?

The stink from the fish shop was so bad the R1 & Blade keeled over?

Question is - were the bikes riding together before hand...or did they first meet at that fork in the road?! Hope you're ok RR.

That is close (?)

I reckon something hit both bikes, take a look and you can see that both side stands are down.

Hope you didnt get hit too hard RR. I take it your bike got away with it?

Hi guys. I'm sitting in another hospital waiting room waiting to see another specialist so will fill you all in when I get home to my laptop. Feel free too keep guessing though. 

Didn't see this bit, hope you're OK mate.

I thought the same about the side stands ;). My guess is something has come off a passing HGV/flatbed and knocked the bikes over.

Get well soon RR.

Ahh yeah the 'blade has fairing damage and thus the vehicle that struck it left that plastic arch liner behind. Lucky if the Beemer wasn't taken down too.

Did they stop?

Would also explain why the riders had removed lids and gloves (and jacket of the 2pc) before picking up the bikes, and why there is a pair of gloves by/underneath the debris.

I'm going with a lorry has come past and the tyre has had a blow out (mudguard) hence the bikes being tipped over off there stands and you in the hospital.

Congratulations guys, you got there in the end. Good bit of detective work I might add.
Picture this. Last Thursday evening, Five of us decided to take a ride out to Scarborough, calling in at Harpers fish and chip shop in a village called Wetwang. I'll bet that soofsayer knows the place. I met two of the bikers, the 'Blade and the Anniversary R1 on the bypass near where I live. The other two, Panigale and R1M had texted to say they would see us in Wetwang. Anyway 25 miles down the road we park up at the fish shop and order our cod and chips. Just sat down with our food when there was an almighty BANG!. We all leaped up as one only to see the carnage as shown in the pictures. A car had driven head on into the front of the 'Blade at no less than 30 mph and catapulted it into the R1, How the wreckage missed my S thou I've no Idea. If you look you can see the girl from the fish shop sweeping up the bits. Anyway, the driver of the car came up and said it was all her fault, which she repeated to the police when they turned up. They checked her phone and breathalysed her and all seemed to be in order. She said she doesn't know how it happened.......Anyway the bikes have been taken away and are awaiting repair or write off. shortly after this happened the other two bikes turned up. I can't help thinking this could have been so much worse had we all been squeezed into that area.

Just to let you Know my hospital visit this afternoon had nothing to do with the above at all, just an ongoing problem with my hernia, a throw back from years of repairing Heavy Goods Vehicles way back in another life.

Wetwang - yes, been there only once a few years ago and the rain was torrential. I remember riding through some very deep water just to get fish and chips.

Thanks for the reveal, and glad you're all ok.

Glad nobody was hurt RR, I reckon your bike was saved cause you've been on the driving course and you picked the best place to park. Or else you're a lucky bugger, LOL. Anyways glad its only plastic and metal.

Take care.
