ok i'll try phrase it differently.

the way you exit a corner is usually already decided way before your actually exiting, the way you've gone in determines how you get out (obviously there are certain exceptions) as that determines your line, your apex point which in turn determines your exit.

Well the zx10r is renowned for having no low end grunt. So at places like snetterton where you have 5 slow corners its hard to get the bike to exit them as fast as most other bikes.
You need to be in 1st but then youve got the peaky zx10 power and not very good gearbox to contend with so i used 2nd nearly all the time.
I lowered the gearing but it was bouncing off limiter in 6th so you just cant win unless you throw lots of cash at it like a bsb or wsb.
Getting on the gas earlier only ended up with me nearly getting highsided

Done some training recently?................:friendly_wink:

see thats opposite to my last zx10r 2017 model tho, they dont like corner entry and mid corner, hence why most go to MSS and get the headstock cups to make them turn better especially mid corner, but was good on exit and brakes as was to stable a set up out the box ,,
I cant judge the gen5 zx10r on track as ive only ridden one on the road but ive heard they are harder to turn.
That is very easily resolved though.
You drop the forks a few mm and put a shim on top of rear shock and for no money you have a solution.
As for being good on corner exit they are very smooth power wise so they put it down ok but if you are following another 1000 you will get gapped as its down on torque

hahah yep :chuncky:

although this was instilled into me a long time ago (by the same guy i might add),but one of the most important things i find (for me at least) is understanding why your bike does what it does,or goes where it goes, then you can start to work out how to make it go/do what you want

I'd seen your post on TDR.........1m 51s....very nice. I was on the same trip and had never been there before - managed to get sub 2 mins which was my target...now it gets harder as most of the easy time has gone. Can't wait to go back next year.

yea i've used Mike a few times,he's very good at finding your key problems and ways of how to improve them.sub 2mins is good for 1st time, and as you say it gets harder to find time once you get to a certain pace, but you'd be suprised where you can find chunks of time especially at jerez as 1 corner can effect the next 3 .give me a shout next time your going (i'm on the NL may trip+march with p/dayz)

yeh headstock the better though as the standard forks are very heavy sprung so my weight had to go softer , even at MSS they said their lads took them out standard and the front was to stiff for them, also my 10 was the fastest thing ive rode, 201 rwhp with a decat n can , flash on mss dyno felt very quick,
Thing is most racers are lighweight.
Even danny buchan is simular height to me but weighs alot less. Plus they wear quality lightweight gear where i have heavy stuff

danny buchan could weigh 30stone and still piss over the vast majority of people!!

you mention size, just look at what phil crowe could do when he was 24st,was still at the sharp end of t/sport gp1/elite ,still managed a decent pace round the TT,and only going quicker now he's shed a few pounds

I think we're talking about the inserts which change the the triple clamp offset, right? Adjusting the trail.

I want to adjust the s1000rr trail. Theres not much info on tripple yokes for the s1000rr. I wanted to find how much different the offset the gen1 was to gen3

Here is a great explaination of bike setup.

It is very complicated but i can see some of the reasons i have trouble with the s1000rr.
I am tall a fairly heavy up top so i have higher center of gravity and more weight transfer.
So people say that the zx10r wont turn in may be because they are shorter and lighter than me as i always got it to turn in.
I had to make changes because change of direction was difficult as standard but i improved that with setting changes.
The s1000rr is far easier to change direction so for a short light weight rider that would be better.
But for me its causing a very unsteady feeling.

That would be to higher the center of gravity and allow you to lift feet height up a bit. Something that comes in handy when youve got size 13 feet like me lol

Ive spoken to a local suspension specialist who say they should be able to help me with the ddc revalve and respring.
Not sure when i can get round to this but i will post results when i get them.

Does anyone know why you cant adjust the rebound seperately without having a 2d sensor?
I cant see a reason for it not being activated standard

hence semi active unlike the r1 etc which has a pot.sensor in the fork already

Im wondering of theres someone who can turn off ddc and just give manual like adjustments using the standard internals?
I have a spare set of ddc internals and i now have 4 rear shocks lol. Dont ask!! But i have some to play with.
