Hi, guys just got my levers in the post today from BMW and wanting to fit them. Unfortunately no fitting instructions have been provided.

I have searched the posts but no details instructions can been found. A lot of people saying to be carful with the micro switches on the clutch side so a little nervous about fitting with out guidance.

The EvoTech website has some instructions for their levers but doesn't cover the micro switches.

Also looking at the clutch lever is seems to have 3 position adjustment (whilst the brake has 5) but even on the closest adjustment to the handle bar the distance still seems very close to the stock and the main purpose for me to get them is due to having small hands. I hope them sit closer once fitted.

Please help.

Thanks

BMW HP Levers

Most genuine accessories do not come supplied with instructions as BMW generally insist on fitting all parts themselves. The HP levers are easy to fit but you just need to make sure that the clutch microswitches are in the correct position as you will lose both cruise control and quickshifter functionality if they are not. Once fitted the HP levers are very good in terms of adjustability. If you are intending on doing a lot of work yourself a BMW Repair & Service Manual is a worthwhile investment.

Re: BMW HP Levers

They will be much the same as the evotech ones so google the fitting instructions for those. As for the microswitch my dealer just replaced mine after they failed following fitting as they know they are prone to failure.

If you need instructions to fit the levers I suggest you get a professional to install them for you. Brake lever only has one bolt. Remove nut from bottom first then use flat screwdriver to unscrew the screw. Lever will fall out then install new one. Wee dab of grease on the bush too. On the clutch side it is best to adjust the slack of the clutch to get the most free play. Also tape up the bracket as it is prone to scratching when installing clutch lever.

thanks guys for the response. I may get the dealer to fit when next in for a service.

Just a thought but if your near the Bradford area you could pop up to the garage where I work on a Saturday and I'll fit them for you FOC - I've not had a chance to see the HP levers in the flesh

Thanks so much for the offer!

I normally travel up to Bradford regular but not on the bike :upset:

Good to hear that there are still helpful people around.
