Help need please

And you say it quick shifts fine? Will it try to start in gear without the clutch pulled in (be careful!)

Re: Help need please

its a small block shape about 1 inch square with 2 x little stainless levers on it. one can easily get bent whilst fitting aftermarket levers. both switches need to work for both the cc and qs. think it was about ?40 for the spare i bought.

Re: Help need please

Ok getting somewhere now ! I'm only getting one click !! If I push the other one in with my finger that clicks... It seems like the black plastic is not pushing it in enough

Help need please

I would make sure the plastic piece is mounted to the lever correctly, It only goes on one way, if that's in place, you may have bent the metal tab, one of them is supposed to be bent though..

Re: Help need please

none are meant to be bent?

there is a mod that involves heat shrinking a small splint of metal onto one of the switch levers but only needed for certain levers. should be under warranty still.

Can you take a picture of the switches without the lever on?

I'm pretty sure mine has a bend in it? but I can't confirm that as I'm not with the bike so could be wrong :)

Re: Help need please

Ah no, just googled it and it is straight, I'm getting confused with a picture I saw of a bent one haha

Re: Help need please

it looks like this but this is a single one. the double one is basically 2 of these put together but with the levers going in opposite directions.

Re: Help need please

This is how the set up looks with the clutch lever pulled in if it helps anymore

Re: Help need please

and the position of the switch actuator, this only goes one way as said previously

Re: Help need please

Are they new levers?-if not, they could be for earlier bikes with only one micro switch.I believe the actuating pin is different. You should be able to buy the appropriate piece separately.

Re: Help need please

Gentlemen panic over for me !! Went to BMW this morning and explained it to them ( north Oxford BMW ) who are really helpful... ?44 for new switch and ?32 to fit it.
Came home and thought I'll have one more try and hey presto I've done it!
Straightened the little metal strip with my fingers best I could went out on bike and cc worked until I went over a large bump in the road.... Came back and straightened better with pin nose pliers and it's as good as new.... Again thanks everyone for your help much appreciated!
Thanks
Dave....
