So got myself a 2015 S1000RRs back in May 2015 and have since covered ~32K miles, and only now signed up to the forum ... despite spending many hours reading it!

Hope you've all been enjoying the good weather and MotoGP?

Hi Oli, Welcome to the site my friend. Covering all those miles is a bikers dream, hope you loved every last one of them. Weather is turning for the better, MotoGP looks exciting this year too.

Thank you for the warm welcome Jimmy!

Thanks buddy I certainly have indeed, every time I go for a ride I'm reminded what an amazing bike BMW have built.
Only thing I'm not a fan of is how much money I've spent on rear tyres ... dread to think lol!

Yea it's looking good, was gutted Zarco dropped it in Qatar.
Good to see McPhee being on a competitive bike in Moto3, am hoping he does well this year.

Hi Oli, thanks for joining and even more sponsoring the site, hope the offers, information and comedy duo of Stu and Jimmy are worth the entry price :)

32k is a hell of a way, we'd be really happy to hear your thoughts on the bike in that time as you've given it a damn good test.

Hi oli, welcome to the forum and thanks for your support :).

That's great mileage.

Hi Oli, that's some mileage you knocked up in a short period. I'd be almost 3 years to get there on my HP4. Think the most I've ever done in a year is 11 or 12k and I'm out on mine a lot compared to my mates.

Enjoy the forum mate..... (Whisper) "there's a few you need to watch out for on here".... and don't shake Jimmy's hand if you see him..not if you have expensive rings on that is !

Thanks again for all the kind welcome messages everyone, as far as I'm concerned I'm long overdue joining the forum ... better late then never as they say.

I'd be more then happy to post a picture of the bike and my owner review/experience. Will type something up and post it in the "garage" section in the not too distant future.

Yea considering I'm not a genuine daily commuter (by bike), between the bike and car I'm pretty sure I've made my fair contribution to this lovely weather what will all the petrol I go through!
The mileage on my bike is mostly from riding all weekend, every weekend come rain or shine without fail, and commuting when weather is dry "ish".

Haha I'll have to keep my wits about me then!
I'm new to Forums, but to me this is kind of like a Facebook but with much better people ;) !

Thank you, it's a pleasure to aboard!

Honesty I don't want to know lol ... On average, I'm changing a rear tyre ever 5-6 weeks, a front after every two rears.

I use Metzeller Roadtech 01's in Autumn and Winter (190 rear), then switch to Bridgestone S21's in Spring and Summer (200 rear).

I'd like to try Metzeller's Sporttech M7 RR next.

Metzeler Roadtech 01s are a fantastic tyre, I was a massive fan of the Michelin PR3d but never really warmed up to the PR4 (been through a good few sets of those).

In my opinion the Metzelers are a very sporty sport-touring tyre, they're quick steering and give ample grip on the road in the dry for the most exuberant shenanigans. In the wet however, is where they shine, they're better than PR4s, and are very nearly as good as PR3s.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Cheers. that's interesting. I had a couple of pairs of PR3s on my GSXR600 & was impressed with them. Noticed that Roadtec 01s had similar tread pattern to PR3s. I'm mostly road with a few trackdays, but need something that won't let me down in the wet.

Yea they're similar, but not quite as cut as the PR3s, which gives a much more planted feeling in the dry because of less block movement. The Metzellers are very good in the wet though, I remember being throughly impressed by them after being rather disappointed in the PR4s. As far as a road legal wet/cold weather tyre, I don't know if anything better at the moment.

Oh and as far as pressures are concerned, I find 36 psi front and rear for solo riding works well, I think it's much better then the manufacturer recommended 42 psi at the rear and still gives a good balance of compliance/grip vs wear rate

Welcome! nice to see someone else putting the miles on.

At 42k now.. on a '64 plate gen 2

I need to start my own tyre company i think....

try the Rosso 3's.

+1 on the tyre company!

I've not tried Rosso 3's yet, but have heard only good things so will probably give them a go next time ... or in the not too distant future lol!
Thanks for the recommendation
