A really secure place to mount on the bike I found was the left side where the frame can be seen through the fairing, I used a clamp around the frame and a little extension to lift the camera beyond the fairing.

If your bikes nice and clean you get a cool mirror effect as well :)

I?m not a fan of helmet mounts as they?re quite noisy and bulky, I reckon a camera inside the helmet, behind the visor would be perfect...

Was the recording clear or did you get buzz from the engine vibrating?

What mount is that a power pack or screen?

It?s a gimbal mount (or gyro) to keep the camera level. It gave pretty good results

This vid is the first test

I then moved the camera out a bit further

I?ve since mounted it on the tank which makes for better footage but it?s no good for most track days.

Aargh! I now wanna go for a ride.....[emoji30]

Misspelt by my iPhone

You?re not wrong...i need a second bike, mine is currently sat 50 miles away in track trim which isn?t on the whole convenient for a Sat/Sun blast.

:(

One of these from EBAY with some of the thumb screws replaced by normal screws. Mounted just above the Crash bung. Only about ?4.
Used a safety tether to case and frame just in case.

I believe there?s a few on the market.

Mines a Feiyu Tech WG lite, I think I paid ?70 each for em (got my dad one too) I bought two but our supplier said they were the last they were getting as it was the least popular version. The other models they do are 2 and 3 axis but for the bike you only need 1.

I?ve just googled it and they?ve changed the name to Forever by Feiyu tech.

It?s a great bit of kit but there are a few drawbacks

1. It?s not waterproof (if you?re like me then that?s not an issue because if it were raining I wouldn?t be doing anything worth recording!)

2. It has a USB port but you cannot power it from the bike and so you must rely on battery power and if the battery runs out (you do get a spare set) then it is completely useless like on that second vid at 2:10

3. If you use and external mic like me you may have a hard time finding a usb lead flexible enough, that won?t stop it from rotating freely.

4. Your camera is naked when in use. You can?t use the hard case while it?s on the gimbal. This also means there?s nothing but wind noise from the cameras own mic

I was very lucky on the Croft day as a Stone must have hit my camera and shattered the front lcd less than an inch from the camera lens, luckily I bought a little push on lens cover.

Apart from that it?s amazing.

It does come with a little lead to connect the camera (don?t know if it works with anything newer than a gopro4) to the gimbal and power the camera from its battery but this cuts down its working time by quite a bit.

I?ve hard wired mine so it runs off the bike battery (but doing so probably voids any warranty)
