Hi, I've got to change front wheel bearings, I'm an engineer (of sorts!!!) fitted loads of bearings etc. but is there anything unusual about the RR? just thought I'd ask rather than find out the hard way, I'm always in a rush to get sorted, I'm away Friday evening for Cadwell Saturday. By the way, I'd never even dream of pushing a bearing in or out without warming the aluminium first, may use the hot air gun rather than the oxy acetylene torch!!!

Go steady with the pressure washer fellas, the bearing one side of my front wheel was 'kaput', brown water inside of it. No problem to do but even when it was too hot to touch the bearing was a sod to get out, the spacer will not drop far enough to get a punch behind it, I welded a bolt to the inner race and then wacked that, gently!!!, once the spacer is out it's easy to push the other out, they're a good interference fit and quite a bit of heat is needed before they move easily, if I was going to make a habit of it I'd buy a blind bearing puller, in future don't ask why my bike is dirty!!!

Maybe if I never ride in the rain again I'll never have to wash it, getting to Italy in October may be a bit difficult, could drag something else out the shed I suppose, I think there's an old blue one at the back! R B
