My '15 has always had a bit of squeal, especially when coming to a stop. Likely the factory doesn't apply any/enough copperslip to the back of the pads. I mentioned it at the first service but it was the same afterwards so I don't think they could be arsed to do anything about it. I wasn't really that bothered either.

After a proper spank at Snetterton it does it less than before, so some proper braking helps.

They don't apply any copper slip on the callipers and only a few bolts get ally paste... First thing I did with mine was service the callipers and copper slip all the bolts I thought could end up causing trouble!

As a side note, the BMW service schedule doesn't call for the callipers to be serviced - just a visual inspection. Many of the bikes I service have gone years without a proper brake service...
