Hello everyone,

It is that time of year again when I start thinking about the better weather and what bikey things to do. We need to come up with a forum meet for this year. So I would like to seek options/thoughts/opinions for what to do in 2018, and when.

My thoughts are we should aim to do something end of May/early June.

I want to do the NC500 this year. It is a bit of a trek so would be a proper biking holiday, perhaps thats something a few fancy doing & meeting up along the way? Would need some organising but could be a simple - here are the dates, sort your own stuff out and see you there?

Or just do a 1 day meet up somewhere most can get to, ride about a bit and go home.

We have managed a dozen or so bikes each year, it would be good to get more along to make it a spectacle.

.....?

I'm certainly up for some kind of meet this year. The NC500 is on my list 'to do' list so might be up for that.

Is the BMW club running any trackdays this Year? one for @bins I think

Coincidentally I was talking with Alex about bins and the trackdays earlier today. Bins fell off a ladder in France and broke his back. He is back in the uk but not particularly mobile so all bets are off regarding the trackdays until we hear different.

Another meet option would be to hijack/block book a road only track day :).

I?m right up for the NC500 in May or June [emoji16]

Really hope Bins makes a full recovery, am sorry to hear of his injury

Good idea about the road only trackday

Would love to do nc500!! Yous boys should arrange a boat trip over to Northern Ireland and watch the road racing, I do all off them over here, but the nw200 in May or UGP a great week

Oh my gosh Ill have to admit this... I was thinking "NC500" Has the B500 been renamed?
Upon checking it out it looks lovely, however can we leave it till its slightly warmer? :p

Great shout Andy Im in for this.

If its the NC500, and I'm not at work i will definitely come and join up in Inverness or Ullapool, and a blast down through Glencoe or the Cairngorms. If it's in June, I'd only be able to go if it was between the 10th and 17th.

There is a James Whitam track day at knockhill in July, that we could try block booking, then a trip round the NC500.

End of May beginning of June is TT fortnight Soofy, I know quite a few guys on here are already committed to it including me. Not back until Saturday 9th June, thats the day after the Senior.

I cant do july, but did see that there is a JW croft day in late May. I have been once before and enjoyed it, very friendly and time with JW was great. Didnt learn much tbh, but it was nice paying JW ?200+ to tell me I looked like I knew what I was doing. He was so far ahead I know he was lying lol.

I'm up for it...if it's the NC500 the weather has to be dry, ive done it when it was scorching 2016 and aborted last years attempt as it was raining and knowing how narrow the roads are north of Applecross, it would be completely unenjoyable lads.

What about 18/19/20 May for the NC500? Who’d be up for something around those dates?

The weather is so changeable in Scotland I think it has to be a case of booking it and if its bad then abandon. I tend to have good fortune with touring and weather so I am confident it will be the 2 week summer on those dates.

Haha, great selective memory Andy, I remember hiding under a garage canopy at Glenshee with a guy who looked very much like you, in the middle of a monsoon you dragged with you from York.

Things like that add colour to rides, if it hadn't rained I would never have known what you bought your wife for her birthday, lol.

I also remember the sun only came out when we split up on the way home, the rainclouds must have had radar lock on you and Stuart and come to think of it it followed the big man all over Europe.......

Going to call him Travis if it happens again.

I had forgotten about that day jimmy. You are quite right. It was good until the afternoon I seem to recall, and I cant remember the wife thing, other than talking to yours on your mobile lol.

Now I start to think about it StuartB does seem to have a magnetic attraction to bad weather. Not like your good self going skating over the Pyrennes with a GS.

The weather in may can quite often be really nice. May tendsto be when weather turns nice enough for me to start fishing a little bit.

Unfortunately I will more than likely be working on these dates, but as it is more or less on my doorstep, I can just jump on the ferry anytime to do the NC500, so will probably try doing it with some lads from home later in the summer.
