Was not sure on decals, was going to remove them but its has kind of grew on me and suppose makes it a bit different from others

It was mate, via Morpeth, rothbury and otterburn! Need 600 miles racked up for first service!!

Good roads up there , you should have 600 miles done by this weekend no probs , if mine was ok id be up there too.

How does the s1000rr compare to the R1 fella?

i moved from R1s (2000, 2005 and the crossplane 2009) to the '12 S1K when came out as tired of waiting for a new incarnation R1.
in Yamahas favour the build quality i'd say was / is superior....now from a quality perspective this may be so but on the other hand from a weight saving (and yes I know speed and all that is power & weight ratio) the BMW by not having thicker plastic panels, enclosed electrics, a decent fitting seat cowl...and other menial things does save weight thus a better ratio than would otherwise be.

I digress, I found the S1K to have a far better power delivery than the crossplane, yes yes there different engine configs, but the S1K appeared to pull more and far longer, it was for me a more natural position and more responsive steering. oh and the quickshifter is good, but never used upwards clutch anyways.

I would like to test the S1K back to back with my old y2k R1 though as that was the mutts nuts, great feel, easy to chuck about and apart from a bog down at mid-revs it flew.

needless to say Yamaha still haven't revised the R1 and I don't think i'd switch back to Yamaha now if they did...

be interesting what others think of the Beemer build quality (not technically as that's up above the others imo) and also comparison to the R1

Suprised to hear the build quality is superior to be honest.

Those later R1s look and sound awesome but how do they compare performance wise to the srr??

Oh....and do the S1000rr all come with quickshifter and do they have marchesini rims??
