I've just purchased the Evotech guards now they're back in stock. I've got my new Torx set at the ready, is there anything I need to know about fairing removal, any tips etc. are there any little suprises I need to know about?

The bike is a 2015 Sport. I had an 09 Fireblade previous and that could be a right royal pain to remove the fairing with all the little plastic tabs.

Cheers,

Can't help with the fitting but I've just purchased same for the same bike and sold the same bike ! Mines not coming till mid May ( my choice ).

Yes, I'll let you know how it's gone with the fitting. But for moment while the weather is ok I'll be hoping to rack up some miles before I'm committed to scratching my head wondering why the bloody fairing won't come off when I've taken all the fixing off :dejection:

Get it fitted first its a easy job, last year my mate made that mistake he had a stone go through his rad then decided to fit a rad guard

Well that's it fitted. Download the instructions and it's easy but a bit of a faff. The torx don't seem to be that tight on the fairings and don't overdo them as the last one I put in cracked the securing washer on the fairing.
Took me about 2 hours checking/rechecking and making sure I had things taped or labeled but I'm not handy with a set of tools.

Mines are going to the dealer to fit when they're pdi ing it. And crash bungs and anything else I think of.

Loupe , I asked the dealer to fit when it's getting pdi. As far as I know I'm not getting charged but I will clarify that as I'm in the same boat as you and will not be paying.

Nothing for nothing. Was already stung for the tail tidy being fitted so thought I'd try the guards myself. Mr magoo springs to mind while fitting.

The guards arrived this morning. Not fitted yet but thanks for heads up Loupe. I'm off out on the bike tomorrow without the guards fitted, hope I'm not jinxed??

The evotech instructions tells you to remove the offside fairing but 2 fixers are in behind the side panel and I never took it off and the guard went in no prob. There's a cable on the near side which clips onto the top of the radiator which has to be moved too for the guard to sit in place.
Apart from that I just taped the fixers that were different sizes onto the fairing when I removed them so I knew that they were going in the right places!
