Dash brightness during dusk hours

Does the dash brightness vary when it starts to get dark.
Riding home this evening it wasn?t quite dark and the dash seemed to be lit sometimes and not others

Mine dims in the dark (Gen3). Never noticed it in varying light conditions but would assume it does
