Sup guys.

My Name is Paul and I live in Ambleside.

Why am I here? Well I got the BMW bug 3 years ago with the GSA's having 2 of the beasts and coming from owning a 2013 R1!
I've since sold up with the GSA's as I didn't plan on touring this year but it appears I'm possibly doing this again. Heading to germany to the ring and the eifel region.

So why am I here you ask? Well I do love the HP4 which led me to this forum. Trouble is I can't find one?? I'm after the carbon model.
Yes I could go for the new S1000rr but I prefer the looks of the old one better. Is there a pro's vs cons thread??

Anyone local to me got a S1000rr or HP4 so I can sniff it? I'd be most happy for insight.

When I'm not riding, I am still riding.... push bikes. Just spent 12k on a nice german built model (search Lightweight, urgestalt, orbermayer) and you'll see what I mean.

If I do find a bike I like I'll need input on how to ge :joyous:t it touring ready, like hooking up a Nav V with its cradle etc... luggage etc..

Anyways, hello

Welcome aboard - lovely area where you live. If it wasn't forecasted to p155 it down today, I'd have a ride up & over to you - although my bike isn't the best example to be basing decisions regarding looks on :)

12k on a push bike - jees.. I cough and splutter if I had to spend over ?300 on one!

Welcome to the forum Paul!

+1 on Soofsayer?s HP4 Carbon, it?s a stunning example in all respects.

S1K?s/HP4?s are incredibly well rounded bikes, so I have every confidence they will excite and impress you in equal measure whether you?re enjoying a country lane blast, a track day, touring or even a bit of commuting [emoji6]

Now that?s some bicycle you have! If you could do some extra cycling for me that would be greatly appreciated lol.

Re SatNav and luggage, there are great options for these on the S1K. I personally like the Wunderlich Sport Tank Bag, with a Hepco & Becker Sport Rack with Kriega US dry packs.

Enjoy the forum, there is a wonderful community on here and loads of information.
Hope you?re onboard an HP4 soon and that you have many happy miles ahead of you [emoji4]

Oli

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum.

Yes my hp4 is up for sale. Cubo moto have listed it with all the bits included. Its ?2k less back in standard original hp4 carbon trim with all original parts fitted. And yes it is the carbon version with original blue wheels, carbon bellypan, gilles parts etc. Still covered under bmw warranty by myself which is transferable. Fbmwsh with Alan Jeffries. 1 careful owner :).

Anyway, enough of the sales pitch, enjoy your search if its not the one for you.

Just waiting to hear back from Craigs Honda who have a HP4 (someone put down a deposit the day before I phoned). I find out tuesday if the sale goes through.

I'll drop you a PM later on!

Nice bike, I?ve cycled the Kirkstone pass this morning, very soggy.

Plan was to eat straight after ( refuel in cycle terms).. best laid plans - currently sat in a pub in Ambleside nursing a pint.

Welcome to the forum

Hello Sky and welcome to the forum. Got any pics of your bicycle?
It?s truly pornographic ( if you are into push irons), make sure your parental control is turned off.
Appreciate a pic too.

Here's one of them.
I still don't get pricing of cycle parts, so expensive.

Have you been in Push Cartel in Ambleside?
They look after me indeed!

Not from the area mate, Cheshire lad.

Just up for the day, love the place.

Funny, I?m happy to ride my motorbikes in all weathers, but would struggle to ride yours in any - sexual.
