Need to insure the Mrs car at the end of the month and not that impressed with the quotes coming back from comparison sites, anyone recommend an insurer not on Go Compare etc?

I've always found the comparison sites much cheaper than any brokers I'd recommend. You could try direct line as they don't do the comparison sites?

The renewal price has come in ?90 cheaper than the best comparison site price which has never happened before! However, its still a fair bit of dollar and I hate paying through the nose for anything, I'll try Direct Line too.

I'm looking for insurance for the rr at the minute. I've just found a site called quotezone.co.uk which appears to be able to get me insurance cheaper from Hastings than any of the other sites I've tried. Maybe worth a try? Seemed to have options of companies that the other sites didn't have albeit there were less results in general. As an aside I've had quotes of about half what I paid last year at ?343 compared to the ?670 odd I paid last year, which nearly put me off buying the rr altogether. Not sure what's going on here as they normally try doubling it lol. Anyway I'm glad I didn't let it get to me in the end. I'm going to hold off buying until tomorrow when I can give Bemoto a call, not that I expect a good price but decided to give them a try this year after seeing something posted on here about them.

This is a good shout... I think its a good idea to keep an eye on the insurance market a thread on new entrants or little known companies is always worthwhile.

I did the old 'comparison site' thing and managed to get insurance on the bike for ?261 full comp with goSkippy. Having then read all the restrictions on the policy (especially the 'not allowed to ride other bikes' bit) I decided to bin that one after 24 hours (cost me ?20 cancellation fee :( ) and gave BeMoto a call (found the link off the 44teeth website - if you mention them, you do get a small discount and a ?500 contribution towards your excess charges). Gotta say, although the price was higher at just over ?300, it has everything you could wish for (except track day cover) including full european RAC cover, and came with relatively low excesses too (down to ?250 taking into account the 44teeth thing as previously mentioned). Cant recommend them enough at this point, although I've not had any reason to make a claim (and hope to let it remain that way), so can't report n their claims handling skills.

Good result there then, a worthwhile exercise. Goskippy was always dodgy sounding.."eh skip!". Bernard manning special that one.. A kangaroo driving a landrover... cmon ! Lol
