brake pads/ short levers

hi everyone bit of advice needed regarding brake pads which are best standard calipers on a 2014 do the odd track day anyone tried sbs pads,also what type of short brake clutch levers can anyone recommend and are they a straight swop over.cheers.

Plenty chat on here about pads if you scour the threads... we're all looking for that holy grail.. it's down to preference.. I've used different compound SBS for years and found them fine...

I currently have a set of Goldfren GP5s on my HP4.. 32 quid for an axle set... SBS are twice that, Brembo same again... Goldfrens so far are excellent... big name doesn't mean bigger performance tho it means bigger ticket price..

I always fit the OEM Brembo pads 07bb3396 from Carpimoto https://www.carpimoto.com/

Much cheaper than from BMW

Couple of guys including me rate them on here... they make brake systems for a wide variety of applications including commercial planes... handy to know when your supersonic as we all are at times [emoji965][emoji601][emoji33]

I don't know about Brake pads as I've never replaced any, But I have ASV shorty levers on mine and they are excellent and are just a straight swap too.

My experience is limited with this bike, the pads that were fitted to mine were SBS sintered, I ride in all weathers and found them fine in the dry but very poor in the wet. The dust off them was unreal and the wear rate was fast. After reading lots of the threads here I just went with the OEM I needed them quick as the existing pads were nearly down to metal so £140. On previous bikes I have always used ebc HH. They performed perfectly in all conditions and wear was ok, speaking to BMW they are harder than oem and they suggested they wear the discs quicker. This has never been noticeable on previous bikes.

I fitted Titax shorty levers to my 2014 which have been excellent so far. My first pads were SBS 870 RS which were ok *but* the front disks were worn so average performance probably down to this. Just replaced the front disks with Viper from Ebay (currently £100 each new - you need to buy 2 Brembo bobbin kits to fit them), serviced the calipers and fitted new cheapo Viper sintered pads which have transformed dry braking performance. I have not used them in the wet yet but winter is on the way so I won't have to wait long
