Brake pad advice s1000rr 2014

Hi guys,

Just had a service at my local none bmw garage & got advised my pads are low, they've only done 4000 miles & 1 track day maybe 2!

How many miles you chaps get on average?

Bmw Dealer says average is 11000.

Brake Pad Wear

As soon as you start doing trackdays brake pad wear will increase significantly so I really wouldn't worry about average mileage.

I know it just seems ridiculously low I'll measure the pads later.

id have a look myself

my last van service they if i let them off id have a full set of pads and discs done.

despite the discs and pads being on front being less than a year old and brembo. rear pads being done at the time. and 3nd set of pads on the disks.

i will probably change the rear discs when that 3rd set are done but i probably have 4-6 months left on them.

Brake Pad Wear Limits

For reference:

Front Brake Pad minimum thickness: 0.8 mm.
Rear Brake Pad minimum thickness: 1.0 mm.
