The tail section for my race fairings has arrived today. alpha Racing offer several different options for the seat unit to compliment their race fairings. I've opted for a single race seat unit as I want to retain both the OEM subframe and my HP Race Seat.
Prior to fitting I will need to make a few small modifications to the seat unit so that I can mount my 2D GPS Laptrigger externally and reuse the OEM seat pad. This is the final part to my race fairings and now all that remains is to get everything boxed up and shipped for the colour scheme to be added.
My alpha Racing fairings have now been shipped for finishing and they should hopefully be back in a couple of weeks time. I will post pictures once they have arrived and I've refitted them to the BMW.
Further progress has been made with my race fairings this week as all the preparation work has now been completed. They should be finished shortly and then it will just be a case of putting them back on the BMW especially as I've now fitted the last remaining parts from my alpha Racing order.
I've fitted a HP carbon fibre rear mudguard today to compliment my race fairings. It's a little bit lighter than the OEM rear mudguard, but not by much, and it comes with its own mounting kit.
I always retain a rear mudguard on my track/race bikes but I do remove the chain guard. Fitment is similar to the OEM mudguard and there are no clearance issues when using tyre warmers with either a 55 or 60 profile rear tyre fitted.
