Anyone ever heard that noise coming from the under the seat area near the ABS unit at all?

Generally when I turn the key on the bike prior to firing her up I get the normal servo ticking but having done a couple of hundred miles today I got home and when I wheeled her back into the garage and turned the key to check something on her, I noticed instead of the normal ticking there is now a beeping noise, as in 2 beeps a pause then 2 beeps and so on and so forth, it doesn't stop until you start the engine at which point I assume it stops not that I would hear it anyway :D

Anyone ever encountered that at all?

Had a bit of an issue with my brake light playing up when I was out, I have one of the integrated indicator rear light units although they are not wired up so it is effectively just a stop and tail light unit, the connection isn't the best so I suspect that a vibration caused a fault (LAMPR) and whilst the tail light works fine the brake light on both the lever and pedal activates for a split second only, I am going to change back to the standard light unit as I suspect that will sort it but I don't suppose if there is a fault on the brake light circuit it is going to cause any problems on the ABS module (proper stab in the dark that by the way! :D ) as it actually sounds the beeping is an audible alarm :D

I have heard the same noise on my hp4 it comes and goes. Some clever clogs on here will educate us.

I've found very little on it out there in t'interweb land but what I have found suggests it's nothing to worry about, but my next question then would be why does it not do it all the time? :D

I had it for the first time today as well. I thought it was warning me the fuel light was on. Thats what im putting it down to unless anyone says anything different

Yes I have just had it too I have just got the bike and it is only my third time of using it but it's the first time I have heard the noise. I had well over half a tank of fuel so I doubt it's that. After I washed my bike and started it back up it did not make the noise very odd it does sound as though it's some warning sound. All I did probably different I put the side stand down whilst the engine was running whilst I was parked on a hill.

I am glad it isn't just me as this seems completely random and there is absolutely no mention anywhere that I can find in the tech stuff that even hints at an explanation, but it is definitely some sort of electronically produced tone like a bleeper/alarm type noise as it is the same frequency and timing all the time :)

Mines does it. Assumed it was a solenoid thing in the ABS unit

My did not sound as loud as that but I never took the seat off etc but off memory the noise was very similar very strange I don't think it is something to worry about (I hope )

The question begs though, why does it not do it all the time?

And if it is supposed to do it, why is there very little info on the web about this other than it just happening randomly, nothing in the book either or the repair manual :D

I don't think it has anything to do with the fuel circuit either as my bike has at least 50 miles worth of fuel left in it and it never did it when it was running on fumes, the ABS gets my vote or some sort of voltage related alarm coming from the regulator/rectifier?

Well had the bike out today fired it up beeping noise by time I got my jacket on etc the noise stopped....what is that dam noise about ?????

Soofsayer we are all waiting on tenderhooks here. Whats the outcome ?

Aye i had mine out today too, first turn of the key and no beeping, did 2 miles before stopping at the garage for fuel and it was doing it again, 60 miles down the road and it's stopped :D

Get it back, wash it, turn the key and there it is again :D

Sorry guys. The chap who dropped the bike off (who knows some stuff) said they all do it, no idea why, not helpful. I was going to phone the dealer but ran out of time today. Must do better!

It's a heart monitor. The bikes is steady, but if they switched it to yours when riding the beeps would be a lot quicker!
