Anyone have any experience with the BMW tank bag? I like it because its bike specific mount etc. I only need it for waterproofs storage and essentials. I'd like to put phone/satnav in clear top pocket in case I lose the group when in Germany. Not sure how much storage it has. 5 litres I have seen somewhere. Travelling with my dad so my luggage will be in his panniers on his bike! 😀

Great for touring, I keep my valuables passport iPod etc. in it when away for a week or two. Heres mine en route to the TT 2013.

Also makes a great coffee holder and as you can see I went for the optional steak pie seat warmer. LOL

+1 it's great for touring like Jimmymac said. I used mine when I went to Holland for the TT and I used it for passport, phone, money, waterproofs and abit of food and drink.

Jimmymac I like your style dude :encouragement: I do the exact same with coffee and a fine piece too haha

Ok just for completeness.
SW-Motech DayPack is the other good tank back IMO. But its the largest bag I've found in the range which works on the RR's tank as these bag are mounted on the the filler cap.
Main benefit is that I can pretty much lay on it on the boring M-way slog! And it doesn't get in the way of my RAM mounted phone.

All 3 mentioned are pretty damned good.

I'll jump in with an alternative.

I've got one of these, it looks better than the bmw in my opinion. There's no bracket, just 2 screws and a velcro tab at the front. So far it stayed dry (considering I'm in Ireland).

Just another option.

+1

I also have one of those wunderlich tank bags and really like it. Looks great on the bike, moulded shape. Easy on and off as already stated. Only negatives are:

- Little question mark for me on the waterproofness due to the velcro seal around the front lip of the opening, so I bag wrap anything that cant get wet.

- It is on the small side so have to be selective about what goes in, but the upside to that is it doesn't impede riding the bike.

+1 on the Wunderlich.....brilliant design and totally unobtrusive when riding ;) Fits both 2015 & 2014 RRs
