Got to use my new bash hat at Snetterton...looks the part (which is the main criteria, right?)
Freezing cold in the wind chill.
The Shoei X-Spirit 3 was perfect. Light, aerodynamically neutral...and utterly forgettable i.e. it was never on my mind so must be good.

Try on some Held leathers before going down the Astar route. I have a Slade 1 piece suit and its superbly light (part kangaroo), flexible and cool to wear in hot weather, ok it costs around a grand but it was definitly worth it

Alex, it's strange how different bikes put out different values. My '15 with the same exhaust puts out 104.5 db without baffle static, the same value as Neaves's MCN S1000RR running the same exhaust when he was racing a gen3. J

Mines always been ok under 100 db with no baffle - but it does seem to be getting louder - repack kit soon me thinks. (full akra system on 2010) - never had to put the baffle in yet. (sorry about the capitals)

Guys are you sure you have same muffler as Alex?

Akra features 2 type of muffler's that can fit racing headers and I believe one is louder than the other one.

Yep, mine's the same as Alex. My OEM exhaust registered 99 db.

The cheapest/least restrictive solution I use for Trackways is a Akra copy off Aliexpress i.e 570mm x 61mm inlet for £75. Very well built and near indestructible and without baffle comes out at 98db. You just need to go to your local engineering company and they stretch the inlet to match your pipe. In my case 65mm. A lot easier than putting the std exhaust back on. Takes seconds and normally costs me a fiver. Examples of what you can buy. Don't forget to ask the seller to put a low value on shipping to save import duty. Even fools the dealer on warranty claims.
