Anyone fitted an aftermarket dash? Any problems?

I've been told it can be done because the bike will run without dash connected. I've tested this & it does but i get an engine fault light when i reconnect the dash. Just wondering whether this is bexause of open end on CANbus or something else.

Warning light goes off if i turn bike off & then on again.

Yes, I have fitted an aftermarket dash without problem.

Starlane Davinci-s - you can get one that comes with a harness for the S1000rr and this makes it plug and play.

Search this forum as I'm sure we have been through this a few times already

Noticed Starlane did one with harness. Was looking at AIM as I wanted data logging but know they don't do a harness.

It would appear that my fault light is being caused by not tying the 2 dash connectors up so may need a custom harness if I go down AIM route.

I did a search on dash but got no results, will have another search with better description.

Starlane Davinci - R does datalogging, however i use Aim Solo DL for datalogging

Was thinking of solo dl but can't find space near clocks to fit it & I want gps lap timer I can see.

Would consider davinci r but its expensive.

That's why i went for the Davinci - s and the Solo DL. Godzilla has mounted it in a visible place but I have a camera there. Solo DL is mounted on the flat bit of the tank cover in front of the petrol cap.
On track the only thing I really notice is if the light on the Davinci is flashing red or green indicating faster sector / lap times. I do not really look for the times until I stop.

I'll have to fit something on yoke & see if I can actually see it while riding.
Might have to remove it for track days though if they get funny.

Nothing has ever been said to me, but just in case as I go out I have it set just to show what gear I'm in.

Dyslexia I think!

T200 is cheap laptimer working off beacon. Marshall didn't like it on my bike even though it wasn't turned on.
It would be different with solo dl if it was set to show gears.

+1 on STARLANE DAVINCI S had that fitted about 2 months ago no problem at all. But you need to get adapter straight fit. Easy, great bit of kit
