AC Schnitzer straight bar / top yolk kit.

As title, has anyone fitted one of these to their s1000rr ?
I have damaged my back and was looking to swap my RR for an R, when the dealer put me on to this mod.
they wanted the best part of ?1000 ( cheaper than swapping bikes !!) but still ouch.
Kit price is ?599 rest is labour, they couldn't answer this question as its Saturday, does the kit come with cables/wires or do originals fit ? does it have new sheer bolts for ignition barrel ?
And most importantly how much does it effect the handling ? obviously I cant do trackdays anymore for fear of doing more damage and my riding will change, but I don't want to make the bike dangerous either ??

Bins has fitted these and they are very nice, I had a quick run on his bike at Cadwell and the bars help sit you up for sure. Bins.....

I would find out what the measurement change is compared to the Helibars before I forked out that much money on them as these seem considerably more money. I've got the Helibars and I love them. I would also speak to your/ a back specialist. I too suffer from lower back pain in L3 &4 but I find the riding position leaning forward causes less discomfort than trying to sit upright with an unsupported back. My previous bikes were an RT and VFR and whilst these had better adjustable screens for motorway miles crunching I have been more comfortable leant forward. Just be mindful that more upright may not solve your back issues, especially if you do go down the road of changing bike. If you part ex I would ask the dealer for a whole day on the R to see if it helps. I wish you luck and hope you find the right combination.

The dealer said I could test ride the R for a day if I wished.
My mate has gilles adjustable risers on his Gixer think I might blag a ride on his to see if comfort is ok

I've borrowed an R before, I found that it wasn't particularly comfortable, felt like there was a lot of stress on my arms... Everyones different so you should definitely try one out

Yes Helibars are now specific for the 2015 model. You are quite correct about problems with the early ones brought out. To start with Helibars just adapted the 2014 model and added wider bar ends. These received a dreadful reception in the USA. They redesigned them and now they are a proper fit for the 2015 model. Where are you located as you could always take a look and have a ride on mine.

Heli bars fitted :tennis:. Really pleased and relatively easy to fit . Very little back pain managed 120 miles .

That's good news and let's hope they extend your riding comfort. Did you find out the difference between them and the AC Schnitzer or did you just go for them. I presume you got them from Bykebitz as they are the UK importer. I had to wait a couple of weeks when they first came out but they must be popular enough now to stock. They are just a couple of miles away and I pop in regularly. I will tell them you are really pleased.

I fitted the schnitzer kit to mine, nightmare to re-route the brake pipe but we'll worth it.. feels like my tuono but 70 brake more..
