I sat on a new 24 1000RR a couple of days ago, and the seat height definitely felt a bit higher than my 22 bike. Reading the specs it seems the front and rear geometry has been changed slightly?

Geometry has been changed.
There are different seat options available to suite.

I don't fancy paying BMW £375 for their options though, when upholsterers charge around £100 to trim the foam in a standard seat.

I went on eBay and bought a seat from a 2021 k67. Any of those years will work 2019 up until 2022 I believe. I went on eBay and bought one for $100 a seat cover was all ripped up but I wasn't buying it for the seat cover I was buying it because I had a new seat cover that my upholstery guy was going to fix it on the OEM seat plate. This was for my 2024 m1000rr, the oem seat is even higher on that. I went from a 2021 S1000RR M Sport with about 20,000 Miles, so I wanted the geometry similar to that because that's what I was used to and very comfortable and confident on. All of the seats are interchangeable on the m1000 and s1000, although I'm not sure about years prior to 2019. Swing arm pivot and ride height on my m1000 were totally different as was Rake and trail., I'm almost to where I like it a few more adjustments and I should be good. I had to raise the forks and lower the rear ride height and swing arm pivot to match my 2021 S1000RR.... the best thing you can probably do is just go find a cheap seat on eBay from last gen. and throw a new seat cover on it and voila! I think they charge like $600 or more for a new OEM seat which is absolutely absurd... as you can see, well, in my opinion this is the best looking seat cover on the new k66.
That sordid looking seat I bought for less then 95 is the one that's currently on my k66 in the pics. Amazing what a new seat cover can do! Not only that but now my seat is the same on both bikes which I'm happy with. Just need to tweak suspension more and geometry a little more on the k66.

The seller had an inaccurate listing title for that seat on eBay as well. That seat is interchangeable on the bikes I stated above. But either came off of a 2021 or 2022 m1000rr. Or it came off a K 67 M sport. The m sport M Package seat is different as well ...it's a little harder....the base k 67 seat is softer. A jfyi

Interesting. I still prefer the seating position on the Gen 2. I don't have any obvious issue with the seat height of the Gen 4, but there's something else I don't like, haven't worked it out yet. Maybe the pegs are higher, or further back on the frame? It just feels harder to move myself round the bike. Might need to go sit on a 24...

The pegs felt a lot higher on my Gen 4 than Gen2. According to BMW the seat heights are the same on the 22 and 24 S1000RR, but the salesman that just sold me my 24 reckoned the 24 could be higher due to the M geometry settings. Anyway the seat is going to have the foam chopped so it's the same or lower than the BMW low option. Speaking of the Gen2 the Bembo brakes on mine definitely had more feel at low speeds, than my Gen4.

@RickS1K If the weather is good this weekend and you are at Rykas, you are more than welcome to check out my 2023.

The Brembo calipers certainly didn't lack power. When my ABS was playing up I tried braking hard from 70 mph to see if the ABS was off, that was the biggest stoppy I've ever done . And The BMW calipers on my Gen 4 were very sharp when coming to a standstill.

I'm a frequenter of rykas, so IF we get some sun it would be good to meet up too
Yeah definitely, although Sunday is looking grim. 👍

I'm going to try and get out Saturday.

Cool. I'll try and be there. 👍
Will you be with the bikes or sitting?

My new 2024 bike was delivered today and the rear adjuster does have more threads showing than my 2022 bike had. I guess the adjuster could be reset to the same height as the 22 bike, and the yokes dropped 10mm, but I'm going to have the seat foam trimmed around 20mm first. So it matches the BMW low seat.

Are the law still at box hill in force?
They been there quite a bit giving out tickets and telling people to go home
Nah not really. They do pop in now and then but generally ok. No worse than WW.
Shame Mike and Jill have left, previous owners, as Mike use to tell them not to bother his customers.

There have been issues recently and Rykas cannot dictate who parks there as it’s a public car park.
People have been getting tickets for dark visors and loud exhausts etc and told to go home, it’s all over Facebook group, there was an anti social group rev bombing their bikes and I would think residents have complained.
There haven’t been too many at Newlands corner but they have started to appear there odd occasions, I was last there about 3 weeks ago
