Where did you find the M rearsets for £650?[/QUOTE

Parts dept from my supplying dealer initially said £720 for the rearsets then came down to £650, I assumed that was inclusive of VAT but since I didn’t buy them then it may not have been.

New bike day. What a bit of kit. Well happy. Will need to spend some time giving a comparison between the old gen 3 and the new one.

First thoughts - jumping from a 4 year old bike with 30K miles to a new bike is always going to feel different. This is a comparison between my old gen 3 and the new one. Bars are higher and wider, seat is higher, pegs are lower (I have got the M rearsets). Its quite roomy for me. I've had a standard seat fitted and its way harder than the gen 3 standard seat. If the M seat is harder again I don't know how you guys manage. Clutch is very similar to the old bike as is neutral- i had no issues. Steering is unbelievably quick. There just seems very little resistance in direction change. And its stable too. Underway the bike is almost silent, I could hear my mates bike infront of me but not my own. The tree hugger in me was happy enough but I'm missing the noise of the pops on the over run. The motor just pulls from nothing straight through, no steps. I think Monners said its like an electric motor which is a good comparison. At the bottom end it makes my old bike feel like it was stuck in rain mode. How it could be described as as gutless is beyond me. Brakes were ok but lacking the initial hard bite. They are still bedding in and improved even on this short ride. Suspension felt firmer all round and I didn't notice much difference between rain mode and dynamic. Again the suspension needs to bed in and I'll need to have a look at the various settings. The only thing I could fault are the vibes at 4K. Didn't feel any worse than the old bike but the mirrors became useless. Above or below this and its not a problem. For me its not an understatement to say the bike is just better all round. Its been well worth the wait. The M rearsets, M levers and tall dark screen really look good on the bike. Beyond happy.

Appreciate not been on for a while as bit miffed with order , ordered s1000 rr sports march , delivery july ,then end of september then recently told dont expect till 2020 , dealer not exactly helpful managed to get £500 after going to bmw uk but dealer said will discuss when get delivery , but reading threads seems as if more are coming out , is that the case for all who ordered march or prior or anything said to them ? Any info always appreciated

What my dealer did was to give me two options- wait for my bike to turn up following the pick up with production or put off delivery until March next year. The part ex we agreed would stand either way. I wanted mine asap. I'm sure others infront of me in the queue delayed so I will have moved forward. Seemed fair to me. There are definitely more coming through - there were 3 unregistered red sports on display when I picked mine up.

That's how it was for me except I was told it wouldn't be here for a month if I wanted to change spec, then virtually the following day ( as it was only a Sunday between) my bike was in the shop ????????????

How do we do with the M seat? Well today rode 4 hours straight no issues, how? I wear cycling bibs (the proper way of wearing them means no underwear and bib to the skin).

No difference rain vs dynamic?
It does, response is smoother from closed to open throttle at the first 5krpm. Dynamic a little less muted so if you choose race you will see what is the main difference.

About to get to the first service already under the 9krpm limit easily going 200 at German highway for a moment, then just turns and hills no end. I am at steering damper on click 4 as for me it supports better the flick ability of the bike vs any slight involuntary input while on the lean.

Getting to understand DDC and when it reacts in one or another way. Probably afterwards will do a race mode for the road, slight pain that one cannot use navigation and phone on race mode. When it works it is very useful just the important info.

Think will give it a half turn preload rear.

Is it possible that those 3 bikes belonged to the OMG BSB team?

Thanks for posting that great pic of tank bag...I'm currently sizing up options for trip to spain next year. So far liking the tail bag used by MCN Michael Neeves and also considering the saddle bags....Keep the updates coming

I normally use the Kriega solution for the tank bag. However that would cover the beautiful blue and red tank cover. That small bag would be a good option for day rides and the like imo
