Hi All,

Looking at upgrading some of the components on m S1000RR Sport for Carbon Fibre and wanted to know which, in your eyes, manufacturer produces the best quality. I've only seen the HP parts made specifically for BMW and they do look excellent quality. I know, from reading some other forums that people go for the Ilmberger and Full Six and again, they do look good but haven't seen them in person so don't know how they compare.

Thanks,

Ilmberger make the carbon for BMW, it is excellent quality. I have and have had plenty of the stuff and it is always excellent.

I recently bought some FullSix Carbon swing arm and frame protectors from APM Project (on our website vendors list) and the stuff again was excellent. I could not see any difference in the weave between that and the Ilmberger.

There are any number of carbon suppliers out there, prices vary widely. You should get plenty of feedback.

Do you know which pieces specifically you are looking for as that might get you better info than just generic?

Premium;
BMW HP
Alpha Racing
Ilmberger
Carbon Six

Good VFM
Jap4Carbon
RaceFoxx
Carbon King

Cheap for bits that don't matter so much - might take some fettling.
Roks4Carbon (eBay)

If you can get a Premium for just a few % more than a Good then I'd go for that.

The most important thing really is consistency. If all the parts are the same then they visually go, whether the product is the bollox or not.

Thanks for the replies - so can I assume that BMW Hp = Ilmberger?

Hello guys

Bmw Hp Carbon Parts are made off Becker Carbon!

Its not Ilmberger.

We have only 3 Premium brands of 100% carbon fiber!

Fullsix
Bmw Hp
Ilmberger

Bmw Hp Stuff is really expensive and they dont have all parts.
The quality is good but it does not justify the price.

Apm-Project is main importer and research/development for germany ,austria and netherland!

Our parts have a excellent clearcoat finish and no poweder coating like others.

We can give each forum user a good discount for all parts :lemo:

Ilmberger without a doubt!
Personally i love Racefoxx also! Great quality for 1/4 of the price.

HI Albert - just emailed you. Can you supply the BMW parts as well as FullSix and Ilmberger?

If you like carbon parts with only 1 carbon layer :apple:

Im not sure if i understood your sarcasm or not..
But anyway... You get what you pay for.. Racefoxx is not near the Ilmberger carbon in quality or something! But like i said, its 1/4 off the price. And i dont need the extra 200g weightsavings.

Best regards
Chloe

I think what he's suggesting is that the Racefoxx product isn't pure carbon fibre, you get this a lot with cheaper carbon parts for cars where you have a carbon / fibreglass sandwich. I think I asked this question on here before of someone who bought Racefoxx panels and they reckoned it was pure c/f....

Everyone decides himself!

My opinion is only the best quality for the Bmw S1000RR.

When you drive on the racetrack and you dont want to spend a lot of money because your bike could be wracked , its ok.

Weightsaving is nonsense........

A really important thing is when you are going to sell your bike the resell price for high quality carbon is much higher.

When you want to sell racefoxx it could be difficult :smile-new:

Only my opinion...

Regards Albert

I've had a look at the fullsix website and if you can find individual prices and parts available good luck as I couldn't understand a word of it. Shame as the stuff looks superb.

So looking at some of the pictures on the web; can't decide over Matte or Satin or to go for a mixture of both. Thoughts?
