The Powerbronze hugger arrived today.
It's a good bit bigger than the stock, which is what I need.
I was about to remove the stock hugger when I spotted that it has a cable holder/clamp for the rear brake which the Powerbronze doesn't have.
I'm a bit reluctant to just leave the cables untied. I've email PB, but is this normal? do the other aftermarket huggers have a cable channel?

Is that the Limberger hugger as i think that will be my next purchase later in the year, looking at the website have they got it the wrong way around they list with ABS and without. I thought without would be a solid hugger (no cut out) and with has the cutout. The above photo is that fitted to your bike with ABS and if so assume no problems. Does it have the chain guard as well.
Sorry so many questions just want to make sure before spending the money.

Hi Daz,

No probs :).

Yes it is fitted to my HP4 which has ABS, and it is the non ABS version of the hugger and chainguard (one piece).

The non abs version has no hole which is what everyone should be getting IMO. The hole in the abs version (and the oe one) is to allow room for the abs box underneath the tail section in the event of a compression to that point. I spoke to Sandbar at length (good guys but expensive) and they had tried ratcheting a s1000rr down to make the abs box touch the hugger without success so I can't see any situation where the hole is necessary.

Let's face it, if you manage to compress the rear shock enough to break the hugger then the hugger is the least of your worries. Getting your nuts down from under your ears is a higher priority.

Hi Soofsayer
Thanks for confirming like you say would need to really bottom out to cause a problem. Only other concern is if pillion is on but hope should not be an issue.

Powerbronze carbon hugger is much longer than any other one, but it might not be to everybody's taste, I have one on my bike and think its fine

demon tweeks sell them

or ebay , this is just an example but they come in all shapes and sizes and in plastic

Just spoken to Powerbronze... apparently the 2012 had a p clip, but there isn't one with the 2015!
They're going to talk to their development guys on Tuesday, I'll keep the thread updated when I know more.

Illemberger hugger: Did anyone put any washers on the securing bolts or just attach the hugger directly?

Hi looked at the limburger but was out of stock when i looked so kept looking and found the below on eBay and it was cheaper, ordered 3 days ago and it arrived today. Will get some pics loaded when i get a chance as it was getting dark fitting it. Must say good fit and has the cable cover clip built in.
Just in case anyone still looking, mine is a 2014 model.
