Just as I had a wee road trip story on here for last years Moto GP at Valencia, I am going to have one for this years TT, will be leaving in 20 minutes. Hopefully it won't be as eventful in the tumbling dept. as crossing the Alps at -12degrees but just wanted to keep a wee record of the trip.
Hope to meet as many forum members as I can, if you see a pink bike chances are its me, give me a shout if you fancy being bored to death by a chubby Scotsman, will buy you an ice-cream though. We are not all banned from the Pokey Hat shop.

Uneventful trip down the motorway but managed to arrive safe and well in Liverpool. Thought it would be rude not to try the local delicacies, well McDonald is my middle name.
Almost beat Huge's midge count on the way down, funny how dark a dark visor is when it is coated with the wee buggers, almost missed the turn off for Bootle.

Well that was a shock, sitting chilling in McDs in Liverpool and decided to make my way to the docks, checked my ticket to see if it had a postcode and WTF..........

HEYSHAM, f13king hell I went past there about two hours ago, not only that but I don't have enough fuel to get there as I baulked at Charnock Richards charging ?1.60 a litre and only topped up enough to get to the Liverpool ferry.

Quick wash of the visor and full charge to Heysham, arrived with 4 minutes to spare and asked the guy on the barrier how strict the check in is if I had been late? "Very" was his stern reply.

Needles to say I have now stopped laughing at Rob Flying Scotsman ending up in Aberdeen last week and embarrassingly this is not the first time I have went to the wrong ferry terminal or airport, I am a fud.............

Luckily booked the Premier lounge and am now relaxing in my recliner with a coffee and biscuit working out how I am going to explain this one to my kids, got pelters for a few years after driving to the wrong airport in the UDA and handing back my hire car to the wrong company. They were going to take it though, lol.

No wonder I am last in the queue.

lol. At least it wasn't Dover that that you'd ridden to :)

Enjoy the TT Jimmy. Ride safe!

Aberdeen was great by the way.

Glad you made it. It's a good job you had arrived in plenty of time to Liverpool.

Safe trip Jimmy and enjoy yourself. Gutted I'm not making it this year due to work but always next year.

Will be following your trip with much jealousy!

Had a wee snooze on the boat and was awakened by the stewards opening the blinds. Appeared that I was in the front row of the boat and was treated to a great view of the Island as I finished off yet another complimentary coffee.
Not been sleeping well lately and seem to be knackered all the time so treating this years TT as a time to recharge as well as enjoying the racing.

At new digs this year as my usual farmhouse has closed its doors as a B&B as the owner is being treated for the big C. Hope all goes well for him as he is a great man and has become a friend over the last 6 years.

Arriving at the new accommodation I am greeted by the lovely Agnes who invites me in with the usual Manx hospitality and informs me that I will be staying next door until Saturday with her friend Jayne who makes a better breakfast.

Talk about being at home straight away they are both great and are interrogating me over a magnificent cooked breakfast about my life...........

Sometimes you know how people will react and it wasn't ten minutes in their company before I was telling them about Oli's close call with Keith last week when he wanted a knob inspection, lol.

Just had another wee snooze and was awakened by the Manx sheep at my window, they clearly wanted to know who the Scottish stranger was as they had heard scary stories of Stuart.

Wee bit of sheep porn there for Loupe.

So breakfast time with Jimmy starts with ?Keith and the knob inspection lol? [emoji23]

Cracking (queue the rectal exam jokes!) instalment Jimmy, as always it is throughly enjoyable reading of your adventures!

In all seriousness though, I wish your friend a timely and full recovery [emoji256]

Jimmy......glad you caught the ferry :) I am crossing on the Friday night ferry with Allan (Panigale) and Lee (R1) so I'll drop you a text to meet up for that ice-cream you promised....

Not been on the bike at all this year as I had a major knee operation a few weeks back - I've been offered a loan of a Triumph Tiger which would be a lot easier on the knee but want to bring the S1000RR - it's all ready to go.....

Bloody typical, weather has been fantastic up here as you know - just checked the latest for Friday and it's forecasting thunder storms late afternoon through evening so looks like it'll be a wet one on the way down. We are staying in Douglas so look forward to catching up......stay safe :smile-new:
