Yeah I was in garage 17 on an R1M. I spent more time in the pub getting drunk to be fair. That's what dry January does to you!

It was the oil scavenge return feed.
It didn't blow the engine, but it would have ended up as a catastrophic failure of it was continued to run due to oil starvation.
Completely unforeseeable and such a small part, and so simple. Hindsight is awful.
I wouldn't like to say it was a blown engine as that is not entirely true.

My mistake it was the oil pressure relief valve

Aah, he must have stripped it then to get the engine ready for donnington this weekend.
Makes sense.
Sorry, thought you were on about laps.
And I was mistaken too, the prv is the bit that went not scavenge. Still super simple but catastrophic equally.

I was there early for Andalucia,that was his all-covering reply as to why he wasn't on track,when I saw him one morning at the hotel.
