Keep us posted I imagine for ?35 they would full day just off this forum. . I went to a guy who told me no problem he had done loads when I got there he tried to set ddc up a a generic rd bike . Best thing for me was learning how ddc actually works it's perfect now . Really think bmw dealers should have a specialist susp days and set bikes up for general customers be a great service

They we're going to do my Fireblade last year but had to go back to work early so didn't make it, I think it's a 1hr slot you get, the boy that does it works for Ktech and does a couple of workshops a year there, will update after I call them today

Got the suspension set up yesterday but the typical Scottish weather has stopped me testing it out properly!!!!! Preload was checked & set up and then some adjusting of the DDC system, prior to this all the DDC settings were at 0, its have now been changed to Rear rebound -3, Comp 0, Front Dampening -2, Its the 1st time the technician had done an S1K road bike as he is a suspension specialist for Ktech working in BSB and the BMs he has worked on there have had the HP loggers fitted.

weather permitting will get out tue/wed for a proper run and possible some fine adjustment!!!!

Are those settings for all modes?

Im not sure but i can ask him the question, he has emailed today saying if i need any more help just to ask, im guessing these setting were to suit the preload in my bike, will post an update when i get a dry day instead of taking it easy in the bloody RAIN!!!!!!!

DDC Setup

It's always good to hear of people having their suspension set up correctly as too few actually bother and never truly get the most from their bike. Just remember that initial suspension setup is usually nothing more than arriving at a suitable base setting. Setup will then vary between circuits and it is an evolving process especially as your pace increases and the bike will respond differently prompting further adjustment as required. Also the DDC system parameters are different in each Riding Mode. In 'Rain' and 'Sport' modes DDC response overall is much softer; whilst in 'Race' mode the system responds more dynamically. In 'Slick' mode DDC is much harder and designed for race track use. Any adjustments that you make will only apply to the Riding Mode that you have selected and given that the DDC algorithms are different in each mode the bike will respond differently to the changes you make.

I'd actually go a bit further than that - I think it should be offered as part of the initial delivery. If I remember correctly the bike is delivered set up for a total rider weight (inc gear) of 75 or 85kg...so you really need to get it adjusted straight away if that's not you. It wasn't even mentioned to me, and took me a while to work out (maybe I'm just slow on the uptake). I had no confidence in the front end until I'd had the suspension done, so I effectively wasted the first few weeks on the bike.
