shock oil replacement

Anyone had the standard shock re oiled?
Mines a gen 1 - probably should ask HM when this is all over, but looking for recommendations as it's coming up 40000 miles!
 
prob be cheaper to get a decent 2nd hand unit,there will be loads of low mileage ones sat there on shelves as people swapped them out for upgrades,they go for next to nothing
 
Is the rear shock, serviceable? Think Dave Moss said it wasn't, I've not checked.
 
not sure about the gen 1,but the gen3 electronic is very difficult (as in couldn't do it) due to washer sizes,i put mine into TW suspension along with forks and told me the rear would cost to much as washers/spacers (not entirley sure) would need to be made,he did say he thought the later ones (this was on a very early gen3) had different ones though so could do them.
 
It would seem HM can service the shock, ?100 + parts (when they are open again)
