Seat cowl

Just brought a seat cowl and realised I need to remove the lock from the pillion seat! Is this an easy switch over? Can some offer me advice on how to do this?

If you intend to use both (seat and cowl). Then I would invest in a spare generic lock (?17) and the lock mount kit from bmw.
