Hello i have a 2010 s1000rr ,which i have De cat (Y pipe fitted ) and a akrapovic slip on exhaust and a K&N air filter , the problem is in neutral it ticks over at 1250 rpm which is fine but in gear when riding its about 2200 rpm which is a pain around town or rolling off the throttle , dose anyone have any ideas that can help ,thanks Paul :smug:

Would a PCV help sort this out as spoken to BMW and they want about ?800 to service the bike and fit a black box (cant think what they called it ) I do the servicing myself so don't want to waste money !:grumpy:

So to clarify you're seeing it idle at 2200 when in gear?
As in if you take your hand off the bars and just idle is runs at 2200+rpm?

Yes in N she will sit there all day at 1250 rpm’s , but in 1st and 2nd gear when you take your hand off the throttle she will stay at 2200 rpm’s (not fun around town) , and when in 3rd and take your hand of the throttle it’s more like 3000 rpm’s , not fun

Are you sure this is not a sticky throttle, 2010 still has a throttle cable going to a sensor no idea why BMW!

Lube the cables and if it don't solve the problem like you said a fuel controller probly will.

OK a quick up date fitted a PCV but made no different at all ,like i said if in 3rd gear and let the throttle off it stays at about 3000-2800 rpm , but if you pull the clutch in it dose drop down ,so she is booked it to BMW to put on there machine ,but have been told i have to remove the PCV ,someone did say it could be the throttle control unit as the cable is quick to return to the stop , maybe in the market for a second had throttle body as BMW want over ?800 + for a new one if that the problem ! :dispirited:
