The standard footrest position on a Gen 4 is right where I like to put my foot down when I stop, which means it digs into the side of my shin. Would rear sets move the footrest horizontally as well as vertically?

Are we talking about mm or inches, and is it simple to readjust shift assist? I've thought about sourcing some more footrests and rounding off the pointy ends a little

I have the FXR's. I will have to measure to let you know about peg position.
Really easy to install and adjust pegs, rear brake and shift.

Definitely mm

It does sound like adjustment you want are larger than any rearsets I know of. I put my leg forward of the peg at a standstill.

@pauly The maximum you can move the FXRs from stock position is 25mm back. But with that the peg height increases.

Thanks for the replies. Footrests are high enough already, so reckon I'll give the rearsets a miss.

(apols if i've posted this before). I don't mind the Gen 4 pegs when road riding, but just can't get used to them on track. I had a word with Peter Hickman about footrests at the London bike show... complained that I found the Gen 2 more comfortable than the Gen 4. I think the pegs are both higher and further back. As we're the same height I asked him what he did, but he just laughed and said that although he's a lot taller than Josh Brookes his pegs are a lot higher than Josh's... so I'm just trying to get used to std pegs
