Rear compression setting

I've been having problems all winter whilst commuting with rear traction, my back wheel was all over the place most days, spinning up a lot compared toward's last winter.
I don't have traction control
I've Just sussed why. The rear compression was set too firm because it was showing number 5 but the little Red disc with the numbers on it spin's around so it wasn't actually on 5 it was on 9.

I watched one of the Dave Moss tuning vids the other day where he mentioned they can rotate...hadn't heard of a case until now!

They should be etched on.
