Polishing the polished swinging arm

I've noticed a couple of blemishes on the polished part of the swinging arm. Can I just use Autosol to gently polish these out?
I don't want to do more damage than good so thought best to check to see what you all do.

I've used Autosol in the past but it's always been on highly polished surfaces - chrome bumpers etc. The only problem I could see is that you'd end up polishing the whole swing arm to avoid a couple of highly polished and 'shiny' spots. Hope this helps

I've got a couple of scratches on mine, not sure how to get them out?
